My Digital Life

Oh, Blog. I neglect you so. But these days I have the old facebook to document my every feeling, mood, whim and meal. Bloggy, I promise that you won't go the way of my leather-bound journals or the book I was writing about people on the subway. (Or maybe you will in that I still re-visit these things on occasion, but I hope for your sake - ahhh, for all our sakes - that I visit you a little more often than those.) There are plenty of things that I could have documented here in the recent past, but those times are gone. Let's not dwell on the past. Let's be forward facing. What might the future hold for us?

I am going to begin training for the NYC Marathon pretty soon, so you can look forward to a bunch of boring running related posts. I just recently purchased a PDA-type phone that I may be too close to middle age to ever fully understand, so there could be some new foibles and complaints in that arena. I already have a few choice tidbits about my cellular provider's customer service that have been peppering my face to face conversations so, you know, any day now I could have a whole blog post about the very same subject. Terry Jinn's Enormous Television is rocking out with its 7 and a halfth show at Kenny's Castaways (half the size but all the on Feb 26th at 8pm if you're asking) so I'm apt to wax about my experiencing being a temporary rock star. I got a blender for Christmas and I'm a smoothie making mad woman who is questioning whether she is really as in love with her Waring the way she thinks she is or if this is just the heady buzz of a brand spanking new relationship and the honeymoon phase will wear off soon. If the day comes when I stop treating my blender in the tender way that I should, will I notice or will we just lull into the boring pattern of kitchen appliance and owner without realizing that we are missing the magic that we once had? My job is increasingly displeasing. Eh, I probably won't talk about that much here but let the idea that I am unfulfilled professionally color your perceptions of my posts, ok?

So many possibilities and yet...I've been gone so long. Today I make a commitment to not just update my facebook status but to update my blog. Yes I can!
